Carson, Trump at the Debate

The big issue this week was the Republican presidential debates in Boulder, Colorado, and that’s the topic of the latest installment of our weekly fact-checking collaboration with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

In his video, Tapper discusses claims made by the two leading GOP candidates, Donald Trump and Ben Carson.

In the debate, Trump insisted he did not criticize Sen. Marco Rubio and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for supporting H-1B visas. In fact, Trump’s immigration plan, posted on his website, is critical of the program and both men for supporting it.

As for Carson, he claimed that he had no “involvement” with a controversial nutritional supplement company called Mannatech, and he called any claim to the contrary “total propaganda.” Actually, Carson has a long history with the company that includes participating in promotional videos.

Tapper’s video is based on our item “FactChecking the CNBC Debate.”
