SciCheck Speaks with WHYY

FactCheck.org’s SciCheck writer, Vanessa Schipani, spoke with WHYY radio host Dave Heller about topics she has covered in recent articles. Schipani and Heller discussed the Federal Drug Administration’s policy on blood donations from gay and bisexual men, a Democratic senator’s exaggeration of the toll Zika is expected to take on the continental U.S., and Donald Trump’s claims about the drought in California, among other issues.

She also talked about her background in the history and philosophy of science and how politicians and scientists may think differently about the scientific process. “There’s a separation between how scientists think about their work and how everyone else does,” Schipani told Heller. The interview aired June 29 on the Philadelphia NPR station.
