Video: FactChecking the Veep Debate

FlackCheck.org, our sister website for political literacy, looks at a sampling of the claims that we flagged during the only vice presidential debate of the general election.

For more information on these false and misleading statements, and others made during the debate between Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine and Republican Gov. Mike Pence, see our full debate story, “FactChecking the VP Debate.”

Shorter videos of each individual claim can be found on our social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.

The debate videos are made possible with the support of the Stanton Foundation, which was founded by the late Frank Stanton, president of CBS for 25 years. Stanton was credited with helping to persuade Congress to suspend the “equal time” provision so that the 1960 presidential debates could be aired on television.
