A Project of The Annenberg Public Policy Center

Welcome!

You might have noticed that things look a little different around here. You’ve probably already noticed some of the cosmetic changes, like the rotating picture gallery on our homepage, where we’ll feature our newest and most-talked about content. But we’re just as excited about some of the things that you might not have noticed on first glance:

  • All our content under one roof. No more having to leave the main site to find all our content on The FactCheck Wire. Now you’ll be able to see our latest articles, Wire posts and Ask FactCheck items right on the homepage.
  • Brand-new feature: FactCheck Mailbag. We’ve always made a point of reading each and every message sent to us at editor@FactCheck.org, and we’ve responded to as many of you as we were able. But now we will be sharing some of the comments you send with the rest of our readers. We’ll select the most notable comments of the week, and publish them in our new FactCheck Mailbag feature.
  • Better search function. Search all of our articles, Ask FactCheck items, Wire posts and special reports from the search bar at the top of every page. Results are returned by relevance instead of by date.
  • Videos embedded right in the articles. Reading an article about a new television ad? Now you can watch the ad right in the story. No more scrolling to the top of the article or waiting for media players to open up.

We think our new site will make your visit to FactCheck.org even more rewarding. But before we share our new look with the rest of the world, we want to make sure everything works. So we’re asking for your help. Please take a look around. Try out our new features. Search for your favorite 2009 articles. Play a video or two. Poke your head into the dustiest corner you can find.

Later on, we’ll send our subscribers an invitation to fill out a very brief, online survey. That will tell us if you found anything hard to use or if something broke when you tried to use it. We’ll use your responses to ensure that everything is working like it’s supposed to when we formally unveil our brand new look.

So welcome to our sneak preview. Enjoy your stay. And don’t forget to take our survey to let us know what you think.
